Water’s End Brewery and Beltway Brewing Company are releasing an IPA honoring “people performing under extreme conditions,” next week.
Activities that are not off-limits during quarantine: supporting local businesses, encouraging front-line workers and enjoying a cold beer from the fridge.
Now, you can do all three at the same time, and support the INOVA Emergency Preparedness Fund while you’re at it.
Sterling-based Beltway Brewing Company and Lake Ridge-based Water’s End Brewery have joined forces to create a brand-new India pale ale (IPA) titled PPE, set to be released Saturday, April 25.
The name, a play on the typical acronym for “personal protective equipment,” stands for “people performing under extreme conditions,” according to the breweries.
Every $18 pack includes a $6 donation, meaning for every 500 six-packs sold, $3,000 will be donated to INOVA’s emergency fund, which will help the hospital system cover additional staffing, specialized equipment and service the needs of patients during the rapidly changing COVID-19 situation.
The partnering breweries have already donated an initial $3,000 in advance of the beer going on sale, and all individual donations to the fund (which you can do now) are being matched up to $200,000 by BStrong GEM on behalf of the Verstanding Family Foundation.
PPE is currently available for preorder through Water’s End and Beltway Brewing. Both breweries are offering curbside pickup, and Beltway Brewing is also offering delivery. // Beltway Brewing: 22620 Davis Drive, Suite 110, Sterling; Water’s End Brewery: 12425 Dilingham Square, Lake Ridge
